Hello, Kitchener from Toronto,

It sounds like you have done a fair deal of searching if you went through online government sources. (It's rare that I find these helpful to me, but maybe I am a demanding citizen.)

Curiosity for me is this: wouldn't there be information that would be helpful on how to handle customers out of some of the "beauty schools"? I have talked with a friend who rents space and runs her own hair care place all by herself and she mentioned that she went through courses that covered a lot of stuff you wouldn't think a "hairdresser" would know, like relaxation of the customer and stuff that sounds like "massage therapist" in a way. Given that, it makes me wonder whether there would not be applicable content on what makes for a good customer service experience in a hair care environment from one of these organizations. Kind of surprises me that you would wind up with the Ministry of Training in your quest rather than a beauty industry training school, actually.

Do you think that gets you in the right direction?

i appreciate ur advice however this is involved in a legal matter and i need something more substantial than a loose guidline ....thanx i'll keep looking'.....already twice they have deleted my requests for help on where to find or even if there is such a governing body over customer service....i would think someone on here would know...its not like i'm looking for legal advice. just a little help from people who make customer service rules. hopefully this post doesn't disapearr also.

tbag, I've worked in the customer service industry for quite a few years and have never come accross a "governing body" for customer service - quite sure one does not exist. If you are looking for a legal framework for employee conduct I suggest you refer to employment law for the country or state you work in. For customer service guidelines, as ayaree said, your best bet is a hairdressing or industry training organization.

Good luck
G.

Well, it could very well be that the topic you have been pursuing isn't right for this website. It might be deleted again. I don't know, I leave that up to the editor or the people behind the website. (It's not my site.)
