Hi all,

I'm the owner of 2 small independent retail stores. We sell product and rent equipment in a very specialized, consultative field. As someone else mentioned, I'm hoping to participate in some discussion of retail customer service specifically.

Our bread and butter is word of mouth advertising and we consistently say the customer's experience in our store and in dealing with us afterwards is of prime importance. We have wonderful customers and most of the time this is easy to do.

I have a couple of current issues which I think I should post separately...I'm a newbie on forums, too.

Hi Sue, I'm new to this forum too.

When word of mouth business is that important (and it really is to any business), you need to find an angle to make your business stand out from the rest. If your product can be purchased somewhere else, what can the customer expect in terms of the experience of coming to your location? (great service AND something special or memorable).

Good luck.

Hello, i am Adeline, also new to this forum too.

I am working as Secretary to Director in an engineering company currently. But, i am quite interested in Customer Service job. Unfortunately, i didn't have related experience in this field. What should i prepare myself so that i can get a successful interview? I need the advice.
