Customer support in a research company- job functions & processes

Hello all,
I'm also new in the group. I've also been appointed as a Customer care manager in a new marketing research coy; using mobile phones as against the regular pen to paper questionnaires. We manage and support fieldworkers on the field. I would like some tips on job functions and methodologies for the department cos i have to set up the department from scratch. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
