CRM Data Governance Policy

Does anyone have experience defining the data fields in a CRM? We are struggling with defining the "basic" customer profile data fields (fname, lname, title, organization, email, address, etc.) vs "advanced" customer data fields (Basic customer profile plus segment of industry, # of employees, frequency of spend etc.).

Can anyone share your "basic" vs "advanced" customer profile fields?
