Tesco Bank Set to Open New Service Center

United Kingdom -  Up to 1000 new customer service jobs created

Retailer Tesco is to create 1000 customer service jobs in its new Newcastle customer services center.

The center will deal with sales and service calls for Tesco's Bank division, Part of Tesco's general insurance partnership with Fortis UK.

It is hoped that half of positions will be filled by the end of 2010.

Andrew Higginson, chairman of Tesco Bank said:

"Tesco is building a different kind of bank - one that listens to customers, offers simple and transparent products and
rewards loyalty.

This new customer service centre will help us provide our banking and insurance customers with the same great service they have come to expect in our stores."
