South Lakeland Council Highly Rated for Customer Service

Posted 18th January, 2007
United Kingdom -- According to an independent survey South Lakeland Council (SLDC) has been named as the best local authority in Cumbria, England for dealing with enquiries from members of the public.

The survey, which was conducted by the Society for I.T Management, announced that just 17 of 235 district councils nationwide achieved top marks in the survey.

The aim of the survey was to show how effectively councils responded to a telephone enquiry, how easy it was to find the council's telephone contact details on the councils website and how effective out of hour messages were handled.

SLDC scored a ranking of ‘very good’ in the survey ahead of other councils who were found only to be providing a ‘satisfactory’ or ‘inadequate’
service..
