Siebel and SAP lead CRM in Western Europe

Europe -- Siebel and SAP lead CRM application markets in Western Europe, according to a new study by IDC entitled "Western European CRM Applications Vertical Competitive Analysis, 2005".

Findings reveal the Western European CRM applications market has now reached $2.55 billion, with France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, making up 72 percent of the market.

The largest industry segment in the European Customer Relationship Management market is financial services, followed by communications and manufacturing.

Siebel leads in communications, retail and wholesale, financial services, government, education, and healthcare while SAP is the leader in process manufacturing, transport, business services and utilities.

The U.K. is the largest single country in terms of CRM usage, followed by Germany, where SAP leads. Siebel is dominant in France, Italy, Spain, and the U.K.

IDC is a global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology and telecommunications industries.
