Scottish Gas Provide ‘Poorest Service’
United Kingdom -- Consumer body Energywatch Scotland has announced that
it has received 6611 complaints in the past year about Scottish Gas,
compared with
2172 the previous year.
Many of the complaints are thought to relate to a new computer-generated
system for estimating bills, with customers claiming they are being
overcharged for greater amounts of energy than they actually use.
Energywatch report that In the same period complaints against Scottish Power
and Scottish Hydro Electric, Scotland's other two main suppliers
almost halved and totalled less than 2000. Both these companies have been
able to substantially reduce the number of complaints.
Scottish Power denied it was over charging people through direct debit
accounts and have no plans to scrap the computer system.
