Qwest to Open Call Center in Logan
Qwest Communications has announced it will open a new
call center in north Logan, Cache County, Utah.
Government leaders expect that the call center will bring over 500 new jobs
to the area and will bring the total number of Qwest employees in Utah to
3,000.
The call center employees will answer calls from Qwest customers in 14
states and earn a salary of between $24,000 and $40,000 per year.
The call center is expected to be open in June, and be fully operational by
August. Qwest plans to start hiring on March 14 with training starting a
month later. The site of the old Anderson Lumber building in Logan will be
utilised for the construction of the call center.
It is believed that a powerful incentive for Qwest to locate the call center
in Utah was a tax-rebate incentive of up to $2.5 million from the state.
