Piedmont Face Regulators Over Customer Complaints

Piedmont natural Gas are to be questioned by state regulators about customer complaints concerning high gas bills and poor service.

In January this year Piedmont received about 420,000 customer calls, mostly questions or complaints about bills.

Spokesman for the utility David Trusty said "This winter has gone beyond anything we could have anticipated," he says. "We are working like crazy to catch up to the needs of our customers."

Chief Executive Officer Tom Skains will appear Monday at a meeting in Raleigh with the N.C. Utilities Commission.

Piedmont Natural Gas is an energy services company primarily engaged in the distribution of natural gas to 990,000 residential, commercial and industrial utility customers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, USA.
