Philippines Could Corner Up To 450,000 Call Center Jobs
The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines expects
the Philippines to corner up to 450,000 call center jobs from large
United States corporations over the next five years.
US firms, feeling the pressure to cut costs and keep shareholders happy
could outsource up to 1.5 million US-based call center jobs, the TUCP has
advised.
One estimate is that US firms will try to offshore about 50 percent of all
call center jobs now based in the US.
The TUCP believe that that the Philippines should get 30 percent of the
seats, due in the main to the Westernized culture of college-educated
Filipinos.
The US has more than three million in-house call center seats, handling
operations of large companies that deal with millions of customers every
day.
