USA -- Midwest Airlines frequent flyer program –
Midwest Miles -- received the Freddie Award for Best Customer Service at
Thursday's 18th Annual Freddie Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.
The Program of the Year award went to Southwest Airlines, with Midwest
following a close second.
In addition to its first and second-placing, Midwest Miles earned third
place for Best Member Communications, and fourth place in three other
categories: Best Member Web Site, Best Elite Program and Best Award
Redemption.
Randy Petersen, publisher of InsideFlyer magazine, launched the Freddie
Awards in 1988. Consumers rank airline and hotel programs from their point
of view and are considered to be the most prestigious consumer-generated
awards in the industry.
This latest award reinforces Midwest Airlines reputation for customer care
in the air - it has been named best airline 43 times since 1990 and Both
Travel and Leisure and the Zagat Airline Survey have rated Midwest Airlines
the best airline in the United States.
