John Lewis Named Retailer of the Year
United Kingdom -- John Lewis has been named the Which
Retailer of the Year for its customer service and shopping experience.
The company was given the award at a ceremony last week.
Which magazine said that John Lewis had "raised the bar" in terms of
customer satisfaction, which it said was rated head and shoulders above the
rest of the high street in consumer surveys.
David Barford, managing director of the Kingston branch, said: "It is a
fantastic accolade to be voted retailer of the year by a magazine that is so
widely trusted and respected. "For me, this just reaffirms my confidence in
our commitment to providing outstanding value, product and service to our
customers."
Fiona Bruce presented the award and the ceremony included a recorded message
of support from Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
