Homeshoring Agents Better for Environment
USA - Research In Motion and SAP and have announced
the co-development of an integrated product that allows
customers access to SAP's customer relationship management, SAP
CRM, application on BlackBerry smartphones.
USA - Home based customer service agents can save approximately
$24,000/year in commuting costs, according to research conducted
by VIPdesk, a virtual customer care services company. According
to the report "How Bringing Customer Service Jobs Home Results
in Greener Pastures" serving customers from home can also result
in less air pollution, and less use of electricity.
Mary Naylor, Founder and CEO of VIPdesk said: "As gas prices
creep towards $5/gallon, more and more organizations are looking
at telecommuting and work-at-home programs as a viable
alternative to the traditional office-based structure."
"Time and time again, homeshored customer service agents
demonstrate remarkable results, and there is no reason for any
organization with an interest in helping the environment not to
consider transitioning their customer service function from a
traditional brick-and-mortar call center to the home-based
model."
