Americans Would Take Good Customer Service Over a Valentine's Date

Posted 19th February, 2007

USA – Voce, a provider of premium wireless services has published results of research that show that four out of five Americans would rather have 24-hour customer service assistance from fully informed "live" people than a date on Valentine's Day.

The research, conducted by independent research firm Luntz Maslansky Strategic Research was called "Digging Deeper on Customer Service".
Results highlighted consumers' growing frustration with the continuing downward trend in customer service.

Other findings stated that 79% of the general public has not seen any improvement at all in customer service in general over the past five years.

According to the survey, nearly two out of three Americans would rather take out the trash than speak to someone from customer service.

'Honesty' and 'the ability to solve your problem' the first time are the two biggest demands of customer service from the public.

Nearly half of the public presses zero the moment they hear an automated response. A third of the remaining public reports exasperation when they hear a computer pick up a phone line.
