Lloyds Bank Receives Thousands of Customer Complaints

United Kingdom- UK bank faces almost 2,000 complaints per day

The Independent newspaper reports that the Lloyds Banking Group are receiving almost 2,000 complaints per day.

Figures reveal that during the six months to the end of June the bank received 288,717 complaints, more than any similar bank in the UK.

12% of complaints were upheld, with a number of cased dealing to unauthorised overdraft charges rejected.

The bank faced more than 41,000 complaints relating to insurance products, mostly relating to the mis-selling of payment protection insurance (PPI).

Other banks such as the the Halifax, Intelligent Finance and Birmingham Midshires received approximately 68,000 complaints in the same period.

The Independent newspaper quoted a Lloyds Banking Group spokeswoman on the matter:

"Our relationship with our customers is at the heart of our business and we take all feedback very seriously. Like every organisation we know there are areas where we can improve and we're working with our customers to do just that."
